About the Association
The "Kallithea" Cultural and Athletic Association (C.A.A.) was founded in 1979. Over the years, the Association has followed a steadily upward path, contributing remarkable work, activities, creativity, and community interventions.
The Association offers training classes for traditional dances, modern musical instruments (guitar, keyboard, percussion), traditional instruments (lyra, clarinet, daouli, angeion), as well as a children's choir department.
The Traditional Dance Festival takes place on July 25th & 26th in honor of the neighborhood's Patron Saint, Agia Paraskevi. In the neighborhood's outdoor amphitheater, various events are held with the participation of traditional dance groups, fostering cultural exchanges.
Additionally, a Children's Traditional Dance Festival is organized, featuring children's groups from various regions of the prefecture and beyond. This initiative was established to showcase our cultural heritage led by children, while serving as an incentive for youth to engage with tradition.
The voluntary blood donation organized by its members, along with its sensitivity to social welfare issues, demonstrates the Association's active support for vulnerable groups in our neighborhood and the city.
The Association has also published a book on the history of the Kallithea neighborhood, titled "KALLITHEA, The Neighborhood of Veria." At the same time, book presentations, speeches, and lectures are regularly held at the Association's offices.
The Association has inspired young people to care about preserving traditions and moral values. It offers vision and high expectations, earning an esteemed place in the hearts of our citizens. It stands firmly by children and youth, providing an environment where they can be active and interact positively.
Despite years of effort, the Association does not own its own premises, which results in ongoing financial difficulties. Our goal is to create an even warmer and more welcoming environment for the children and youth of our Association. For this reason, we kindly request the sponsorship of a cabinet-type air conditioning unit to upgrade our facilities.
Thank you!
On behalf of the Board of Directors
